KARMA FARM

Screenplay by Logan Lark and Samuel Karow

Now in pre-production...

Don't want to give too much away about the KARMA FARM plot.

It's not quite a horror movie. Not quite a crime thriller. Not quite a dark comedy. It's somewhat based on an ancient story, and in some ways it's a cautionary tale. Without doubt it's one bizarre twist after another - culminating in a mind-blowing ending of indelible images.

To facilitate all this, we set the film in the late 1960s - at the height of that precious, too-brief chapter of world cinema full of bold aesthetic simplicity, choreographed camera work, and innovative editing.

Tone, Mood and Atmosphere

Legendary French filmmaker Francois Truffaut once asked Alfred Hitchcock, “Why do all your films look and feel like dreams?”

"No," Mr. Hitchcock clarified, “not dreams. I make daydreams.”

Conveying emotions by capturing the eyes.

Startling close-ups add tension. Anxiety. Suspense.

Mirror Magic - characters left alone with themselves.

Unexpected camera angles and framing of the actors.

Faces partially obstructed and obscured by everyday objects.

Heightened, stylized production design.

Sunshine pours in through lace and stained glass.

Cast of Characters

The characters drive the story. Each of them...in one way of another...is pretending.

A typical work day. Until she tries to go home.

SKIP

Handsome. Crafty. Toxic. And loving it.

LESLIE'S MOTHER

DAVID

LESLIE

DINER WAITRESS

Violence and Body Horror

Going "'old school." - Seven traumatic incidents will be slowed-down, stylized, and meticulously choreographed.

Body Horror - achieved via make-up and practical effects.
